Arithmetic Reasoning
Arithmetic Reasoning is one of the four subtests that make up your AFQT score — the number that determines whether you qualify to enlist and which jobs you're eligible for. A higher score means more MOS options.
What to Expect on the Real Test
- 16 questions — word problems involving basic math
- Topics: ratios, percentages, fractions, rates, basic algebra
- Time limit: 36 minutes on the paper test (CAT-ASVAB is adaptive)
- AFQT weight: AR is one of the four subtests that directly determine your qualifying score
Practice questions are original content created for study purposes. AFQT score estimates are approximations based on this practice set only and do not predict your actual test score. ArmyADP.com is not affiliated with the U.S. Army or MEPCOM.
