BEFORE OPERATIONS PMCS
Perform these checks before every mission or movement. Items marked NFMC will prevent the vehicle from being dispatched.
Enter your info first. Green OK, red NFMC. Print when done.
Check engine oil level — must be between MIN and MAX on dipstick; use correct viscosity per temperature range
Check coolant level in overflow reservoir — must be at FULL COLD mark; inspect hoses and connections for leaks
Check transmission fluid level — must be between MIN and MAX on dipstick with engine warm and running at idle
Check power steering fluid level — must be at FULL COLD mark; inspect hoses and reservoir for leaks
Check fuel level — fill to required level; inspect fuel tank, lines, and fittings for leaks or damage
Check battery — inspect terminals for corrosion, cables for damage, hold-down secure; check electrolyte level
Check air pressure — must reach 100–120 PSI before moving; listen for audible air leaks at lines and fittings
Inspect all 4 tires — check inflation pressure, inspect for cuts, bulges, embedded objects, or abnormal wear
Check all lights — headlights, taillights, brake lights, turn signals, clearance lights, and blackout drive lights
Check service brakes — air pressure must hold; pedal firm; no pulling, grabbing, or brake fade
Check parking brake — must hold vehicle on grade; releases fully when disengaged
Check turret traverse and elevation — full range of motion; no binding, grinding, or hydraulic leaks
Check .50 cal M2HB or Mk 19 mounting — weapon secure in ring mount; no loose hardware or damaged components
Check gunner's primary sight (GPS) — optics clear, reticle visible, elevation and azimuth adjustments function
Check intercom system — driver, commander, and gunner positions communicate clearly; no static or dead positions
Check radio equipment — all radios power up and communicate; antennas properly mounted and undamaged
Check fire extinguisher (portable) — pin in place, gauge in green, no damage or corrosion on body
Check hull integrity — inspect for cracks, loose armor panels, or damage to ballistic protection components
Check hatches and doors — all must open, close, and latch properly; seals intact; no binding
Check vehicle records — DA Form 5988-E current; all open faults annotated; no overdue services
