BEFORE OPERATIONS PMCS

Check engine oil level — must be between MIN and MAX on dipstick; use correct viscosity per temperature

Check coolant level in surge tank — must be at FULL COLD line; check for leaks at hoses and connections

Check transmission fluid level — must be between MIN and MAX on dipstick (engine warm, running)

Check final drive oil levels (left and right) — must be at fill plug level on both sides

Check hydraulic oil level — must be between MIN and MAX; check for leaks at lines and fittings

Check fuel level — fill to required level; inspect fuel tank, lines, and fittings for leaks

Check battery electrolyte level — must be 3/8 inch above plates; check terminals and cables for corrosion

Check track tension — must be 3–5 inches of sag at center of top run; adjust if outside limits

Inspect track pads — no missing, cracked, or excessively worn pads; check track pins and end connectors

Check road wheel condition — no cracked, missing, or excessively worn road wheels; check mounting bolts

Inspect main winch cable — check for kinks, broken strands, or corrosion; must have minimum 5 wraps on drum

Check main winch hook and swivel — inspect for cracks, deformation, and proper latch operation

Inspect auxiliary winch cable — check for kinks, broken strands, or corrosion; must have minimum 5 wraps on drum

Check boom assembly — inspect for cracks, deformation, and security of mounting hardware

Check spade assembly — inspect for cracks, deformation, and proper operation of spade lock pins

Check all lights — headlights, taillights, brake lights, blackout lights, and work lights

Check fire suppression system — Halon bottles charged; sensors and wiring intact; no warning lights

Check intercom and radio equipment — all crew positions communicate; radios power up and operate
