HMMWV PMCS — Free Army PMCS Checklist

NFMC (No Further Movement Criteria) items on the HMMWV include critical safety faults such as steering gear box leaks, front wheel bearing play, broken leaf springs or missing U-bolts, brake lining below minimum thickness, and fuel or brake fluid leaks. Any NFMC fault must be annotated on 5988 and reported to the motor sergeant — the vehicle is deadlined until the fault is corrected.

To fill out a 5988 for a HMMWV, record the vehicle's bumper number, NSN, and TM reference (TM 9-2320-280-10) in the header. For each fault found during PMCS, annotate the TM item number, describe the fault, and mark the fault symbol — X for NFMC, slash (/) for a fault that does not deadline the vehicle.
