Perform complete lubrication per lubrication order — document in DA Form 2404

Check final drive oil levels and inspect for leaks — change oil if contaminated or at service interval

Inspect howitzer barrel for erosion — measure bore diameter at forcing cone; compare to wear gauge limits

Check muzzle brake for cracks — inspect all welds and attachment hardware; check for impact damage

Inspect recoil mechanism — check cylinder for cracks; verify recoil distance within limits after firing

Check all electrical connectors and wiring harnesses — inspect for corrosion, chafing, and loose connections

Check fire suppression system — test detectors; verify Halon bottles are charged and within hydrostatic test date

Inspect turret ring and race — check for cracks, corrosion, and proper lubrication of race

Check all road wheel mounting bolts — torque to specification; replace any missing or damaged bolts

Inspect track end connectors and master pins — replace any worn or damaged connectors

Update gun record book — record rounds fired, barrel condition, and any maintenance performed on the weapon system
